Hey! That's! My! Mommy!

It is food shopping day. My kids wanted to come along so we went to the nearest Wal-Mart Supercenter. The moment we entered the store, MJ started badgering me with what he wanted to eat from the Take-out section. In order for me to have a peaceful and pleasant food shopping experience, we made that our first stop. I bought him a cup of popcorn chicken which he reluctantly shared with his siblings. Yna, absorbed in listening to her iPod, was pushing the cart where Danica was happily sitting on.

Our next stop was the produce section. I have a lot of items in my list so I wanted to be very quick to get it over with. I was picking some lemons when a boy, about up-to-my-waist tall, suddenly grabbed and hugged my leg for a good ten seconds. He mistook me for his mom who was just two meters away from me and so focused on picking her tomatoes.

Danica did not take that well. To her it's an abomination. I love her for that! "Hey! That's! My! Mommy!", she exclaimed with so much infuriation. I cannot blame her. LOL. She glared and bellowed at the boy who kept staring at her in confusion. Certainly, I cannot allow that my daughter feel betrayed that I got myself a new baby. LOL. So I looked down to the boy and kindly told him I am not his mom. Undoubtedly, he did not need so much persuasion. Only then did he release me and Danica chilled out. I could have wiggled my way out of his grasp to prove to Danica that I truly did not conspire with the betrayal ... but that's just too much. LOL.

What is so ludicrous is that the mother of the child remained oblivious to the whole pandemonium. I actually glanced at her three times so she could rescue her child from the embarrassment and save her money for his son's future therapy. (lol ... too much?) I mean, how could she have not noticed me? How could she ignore her child like that? She could have at least looked-up once to check what her wandering child is doing. I commend her child though. He took it like a man. He released me, walked up to his mom, who did not acknowledge his presence still, and moved on with his childish life. :)
